We are pleased to announce that we will be running our brand New Safe Guarding course,  “Your Children Need You” – Online Child Exploitation. This is an up to date version  of our ever the popular ‘Safeguarding Children in the 21^st Century’ course that has been delivered post COVID. This will take safeguarding to a new level

This course will be on Friday 9tgh May 2025 at The Toby Cavery, Basildon Essex. SS14 3WB

Places on this course are limited to 35 people. These places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The new course will include new material not previously covered on other courses including:-

Internet Influencers and how they impact on our Children and Young person’s view of the world. This will also look at the different impact this has between Males and Females to include the impact it can have on their Mental Health. We will also look at how this is impacting on their ideologies and aspirations. Also the impact they have on the mental health of our young people

Child Exploitation and how the ages of the children have dropped since COVID and now include Key stage one. We will also explore the nature of abuse and discuss the different categories of Indecent Images of Children

How gangs utilise the internet to exploit children starting in the medium of gaming

Online Challenges and how they fit into Safeguarding Children document

The 2 Johns will talk through their communication model – Why a child / young person may not disclose to you. This will also include the “Worry Box Syndrome”

There will also be a chance at the end of this event for you to ask questions of the Johns

About the speakers:

Having spent many years working as Police Detectives in various overt and covert roles tackling Online and Offline Child Exploitation The ‘2 Johns’ are regarded as experts in their field and every year they work in hundreds of Primary and Secondary Schools interacting with Children, Teachers, Parents. They have also delivered numerous professional events for different organisations.

Over the past twelve years The 2 Johns have been key speakers at major events throughout the country, to include venues in Devon, Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire, Essex and beyond. In Essex they are regularly commissioned by the Safeguarding Children’s Board, the various Community Safety Partnerships and Essex Youth Service along with Essex social care academy to deliver both staff training and bespoke sessions for large numbers of children, this includes their successful ‘Walk Online Roadshow’ which is delivered to thousands of children every year. They are regularly invited to appear as keynote speakers at conferences looking at Child Exploitation.
